Secondary Research - LGGTQ+

This is just a four letter word LGBT which means 'Lesbians', 'Gays', 'Bisexual' and 'Transgender. There is also a Q which is Queer, still exploring their sexuality.

The above picture is a pride parade in India. There are a lot of parades happening and also there is a bit of awareness in the urban area but what about the rural areas? More than half of India population doesn't know what LGBT is. All they know it is something bad and something that goes against the teaching of god.  In the urban areas sue the use of social media there is more awareness about the LGBT community, they are also accepted in more Indian Youth families but that also within the boundaries of family, home and school, the struggles for LGBT people are still present as they are treated as dirt and something that shouldn't exist. The youth are more excepting and also the ones that question their own sexuality to know themselves better.

Coming to the part where they come out is rather stressful than it being a relief. People are scared to come out to their own family due the reaction they might get. They are afraid to face the rejection of their own blood and that's why they don't reveal their sexuality sooner. There are many studies that tell us that not telling people about their sexual orientation can cause a lot of psychological burden and cause anxiety as that person fears about the rejection they might face in the future.
